The two biggie positions are vacant. It seems like he terminated three clerks. Yet he still needs to address the $145K for Doug Smith, the $92K for Phill McGowan, the $75K for Gail Smith, the $58K for the grant woman, and any increases that these new positions may have incurred.

Actually, the new position tally is greater.
Phill McGowan (his predecessor was retained in another position..a new one?)
Doug Smith (his predecessor? is still the "City Administrator" and "Director of Public Works")
Gail Smith --completely new position
Lyn Farrow-Collins -- completely new position

The only replacements have been Kling (Office of Law), Engelke (Director of parties and soirees), and Clark.

So the net effect in 4 days is 4 new people.
And an unbudgeted (presumably) increase in salary of $371,000 in base salary ($145,000 for Doug, $93,000 for Phill, $75,000 for Gail, $58,000 for Lyn). Of course we also have the budgeted increases for the Mayor and the Council as well. That is $92,000 a day.

Well done, Scott. (A bit long, perhaps?)

Especially good, your comments on the appointees.

How about what you told me regarding Josh's tax increase predictions?

By default, I'm the president, treasurer and one of about three remaining members of the Community Associations of Annapolis. We still have a few bucks in the treasury. Would think adding to the reward fund a good use for some of it. Should probably check it out with Judy Dein and Gilbert Renaut, though. I'll let you
know.

What's happening with the hate crime law enforcement?

I would have a section on this blog specifically highlighting the value of the reward fund in big bold numbers and keep it running till the CULPrit was found.
